Buying
What height range do your bikes fit?
Most of our line fits riders 5'0" – 6'4". The Doheny EZ Folding (step-thru) is the friendliest for shorter riders; the EX (mid-step) and Hansen Cargo work better above 5'10". Take the 30-second Custom Fit quiz to find your match.
How old do I have to be to ride?
16 and up for our standard 28-mph models. Riders under 16 can buy a Class 2 variant (throttle removed, capped at 20 mph) — designed to meet local school-district rules. Pass an in-person test ride and you're good to go.
Can I test ride before I buy?
Yes. Walk in Wed–Sun and grab one off the floor — 30-minute test ride, helmet included, no appointment needed. Want a bike brought to you? We do mobile test rides within 15 miles of Dana Point.
Do you finance?
Yes — we offer financing through Affirm at checkout. Most customers pay roughly $87/month over 24 months on a $1,899 bike with 0% APR for qualifying buyers.
I'm a first responder / military / teacher / medical worker — any discounts?
$100 off any bike. Verify your status at checkout via ID.me. No promo code needed.
What's your refer-a-friend program?
You and your friend each get $50 in store credit when they buy their first bike. Send the link from your account dashboard. New customers only.
Specs & performance
How far can I ride on one charge?
25–55 miles on the EZ, EX, and Hansen, depending on whether you ride throttle-only or pedal-assist. Pedal-assist + flat coastal terrain = the high end.
How fast do they go?
Top speed 28 mph on Class 3 models (most of our line). Class 2 variant tops out at 20 mph — required if you ride on multi-use paths or under 16.
What's the battery spec?
Standard battery is a 48V 15Ah LG cell — 720 Wh, rated for 800–1000 charge cycles (3–5 years of normal use). The Capo Cruiser uses a 672 Wh battery; the Hansen Cargo and Onyx flagship use higher-capacity options.
How long does charging take?
Roughly 4–6 hours from empty to full on the standard charger. Fast chargers cut it to ~3 hours.
How heavy are they?
About 60 lbs with battery, 50 lbs without on the EZ/EX/Hansen platform. Not light — but they fold to 35"L × 19"W × 30"H so they fit in a Subaru trunk.
How much weight can they carry?
350 lb total payload on every model — that's rider plus cargo. The Hansen Cargo is built specifically to haul a kid + cooler + gear in one trip.
Service & warranty
Do you service bikes you didn't sell me?
Yes. We service every major brand — Rad Power, Super 73, Lectric, Aventon, Murf, Juiced, Himiway, Ride1Up, Velotric, Blix, plus everything we carry on the floor. See full price list →
How long do repairs take?
48 hours for most jobs. We'll loan you a Doheny while we work on yours. Battery diagnostics and wheel builds take longer — we'll text you with timing when you drop off.
What does the warranty cover?
Standard warranty (1 year) on frame + electronics. Original owner only. Excludes wear: tires, tubes, brake pads, cables.
UL-certified models (2025+): 2-year battery + electronics.
Optional 5-Year Extended Warranty — frame replacement for 5 years, battery prorated (Y1–2 free, Y3 40%, Y4 30%, Y5 20%). Ask in shop or at checkout.
Is the battery covered if it dies?
Defects are covered under warranty. Normal degradation isn't — but our 5-Year Extended Warranty prorates a replacement battery so you never pay full price.
What if I crash it?
Bring it in for a $50 crash diagnostic — we check the frame, fork, motor mounts, and electronics. Most fixes are mechanical and quick; if it's totaled, we'll tell you straight.
Shipping & returns
Do you ship?
Yes — free shipping in the contiguous US on every bike. Most orders arrive in 3–7 business days.
What's your return policy?
30-day returns on bikes in original condition. Customer covers return shipping. Once you've put more than 30 miles on it, we can't take it back — but we'll buy back lightly used bikes for store credit. Bring it in.
Can I pick up at the shop instead?
Yes — and we recommend it. We'll do the full assembly, dial in fit, and walk you through the controls. Free coffee while you wait.
